Horses have been a part of my life since I was preschool age. I have competed in 4-H, rodeo, and other equine events. When I was 21 my good college rodeo horse suffered an injury that left him crippled. I observed many of my peers adopt out or sell their horses that no longer serve them as athletes. That was something I could never do. As I finished school, and worked as a substitute teacher/cocktail server, I did everything I could to get him healthy again. I could never re home a horse, because they weren't serving a purpose for me. While working as a child protection investigator in Cascade County Montana I truly saw the impacts of trauma within the system and I was fortunate enough to lean on my horses as an outlet to help clear my mind and bring me peace as a first responder. I even had the opportunity to bring clients out to meet my animals. As I am in my second year of a Masters of Addiction Counseling program, I am studying how connections with horses bring individuals therapy and peace.

Our mission is to break the cycle that leads horses and other livestock animals into the slaughter pipeline. We are dedicated to rescuing and protecting these animals, while also offering therapeutic, farm-based experiences that help individuals reconnect with nature, find grounding, and build meaningful bonds with animals.
